Baroque Museum

Location - Orangerie in the Mirabell Gardens

The Baroque Museum is located in the southern wing of the former Orangery at Palace Mirabell, and hosts approximately 150 special artworks.

The collection is predominantly made up of important draft sketches made by European artists from the 17th and 18th centuries - including the likes of Rubens, Bernini, Maffei and Tiepolo.

The collection was donated to the city by Professor Dr. Kurt Rossacher and his wife Else, who wished for the collection to be open to the public.

The museum is definately worth visiting for interested in seeing the sketches that came before some of the most important 'finished' pieces of art.

Afterwards, wander the magnificent gardens of Palace Mirabell.
